DJ ASHBA's love affair with music began at the age of 3. His mother, a classical pianist, taught DJ about music and how to play piano - and before the age of 10, along with piano, DJ was also playing drums and guitar. Growing up under the care of his religious mother in a home without television, DJ would often spend 17 hours a day practicing his guitar. As a 16th birthday gift, his father took him to his first concert: Motley Crue's "Girls Girls Girls" tour. From that one moment, his life changed. At 19, DJ packed up his minivan and headed to Hollywood, CA to begin his musical endeavors.

DJ is best known as co-founder of the hard rock bands Sixx AM and Beautiful Creatures. He co-wrote and co-produced Sixx AM's "Heroin Diaries" soundtrack, featuring the insanely popular hit, "Life Is Beautiful." In addition, DJ co-wrote and co-produced Motley Crue's Grammy nominated 2008 release, "Saints of Los Angeles". He has also collaborated with Neil Diamond, Drowning Pool, Marion Raven and Aimee Allen, among many other well respected and talented musicians.

In 2009, Axl Rose announced that DJ signed on as guitarist for the legendary band, Guns N' Roses. "Guns' radar has silently been aware of DJ's presence for quite some time! He brings a fresh approach to our particular brand of mayhem expanding the tapestry of Guns N' Roses live," says Rose. "Once DJ's name was in the hat, the hat disappeared!" says Rose. DJ is currently on the road with Guns in support of the 2010 Chinese Democracy World Tour.

In addition to his musical talents DJ is an equally gifted graphic designer. His creative agency, Ashba Media, has clients including Virgin Entertainment, Royal Underground, Eleven Seven Music and Sony Playstation among others.

"The inspiration for the Ashbaland model comes from an animated movie that I wrote and have been working on with the Happy Madison team. I began the design by sketching out concepts with Darcy Watt and the Ashba Media crew. The graphics are based off of an embryo that morphs into a cartoon version of me wearing my signature stitched top hat, missing my heart, set in front of a beautiful spooky moon. The color combination of yellow, purples and blacks on this guitar are simply breathtaking."
