The extra-high-quality linear PCM recording has a quantization bit rate of up to 24 bits and a sampling frequency of up to 96 kHz — better than CD quality sound. The LS-10 features two high-quality condenser stereo microphones that have been thoughtfully designed to precisely capture sound. They deliver high sensitivity with low noise. A rigid, carving-processed aluminum case reduces vibration. The 90 degree outward positioning captures a wider and more natural stereo sound field. Choose your recording format. My friend bought an LS-10 and right after I got to use his, I had to run out and get one of my own. The product itself is awesome... The sound is superb, feels great in your hand, solid metal construction and easy to use. I got a free tripod with it as a rebate and noticed you can also get the Wirless remote, which works for me during practice. It's packaged with a carry case, windscreens and everything needed right out of the box. I LOVE THIS THING!

I bought the LS10 to record myself playing guitar and saxophone at home. It is so easy to operate that I can use it in complete darkness. My LS10 has an integrated (camera style) tripod mount. I use a cheapo $10 tripod that I found in a chain department store to position it on a coffee table to get a good recording field. I didn't want to spend time reading manuals or going thru layers of menus. I was able to record/playback, connect it to my computer, and transfer files with only 5-10 minutes of manual reading and menu surfing. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it sounds. My camera's memory card worked despite there being a couple dozen photos still in it. The one downer was it would not play the songs I transfered from iTunes. Even the ones of my own band that I doubt are copy protected. It's a two track portable recorder that will fit in your pocket, it works great for that type of product. I haven't tried any other brands (they could be better) and I haven't tired to boot leg a concert.

Not Tripod mountable. This is needed for long chorus or vocal recordings. Too hard to read display or quickly use controls, especially in low light. Otherwise, sound recording is superb.
