Comments about Alesis MasterLink ML9600 Master Disk CD Recorder:
"I originally bought the Master Link to master in my studio, but I've also used it for recording live. I was using a regular cd burner, but kept getting disc errors and losing the whole show! Since the MasterLink records directly to the hard drive first, it's bullet proof, totally dependable. I called Alesis and asked if you can put a faster burner in, and they told me it is set at about two and a half times burn speed because slower burning makes for a much more accurate master copy. I've heard that from the CD copy companies too, they all say burn a master as slow as possible. I also bought an Alesis CD Twin for making high speed copies. I found if I just burn the tracks as is, it's pretty fast, but if I add alot of mastering EQ's, fades, and limiters, it has to render the file before it burns and takes a little longer. Everybody tells me how awesome my masters sound with this thing, I love it!"

"I have one of these bad boys here, it's very easy to use. The only problem i have is that it burns from the hard drive to a disc tooooo slow, if they can make an upgrade version to this and put a way faster burner in it, it will be the best. Before i never coulda master my music in my home studio since i got this product. I wouldn't trade or sell this product for the world!!!!!"

"The machine does alot in options, but understanding it is not easy. I would not call it user friendly. It also seems slow when copying from the hard drive to a cd-r."
