I put these on my Yamaha 730 after doing a bone nut and saddle as well. Before hand, I had Yamaha coated strings of the same gauge on the guitar.

Since I changed three aspects of the guitar at the same time, there is some uncertainty in attributing the change in sound to specific components. My primary complaint was that I lost way too much from the bass side and wound up with a tinny sound of sorts.

After playing the strings for 3 or 4 weeks I put a pack of Ernie Ball Phosphor Bronze 12s on my guitar. The difference was astonishing, I regained my prior tonal qualities with the added sustain from the nut and saddle.

I have two more packs of these SPs and may try them out again for another comparison but I love the sound of the Ball strings so much.

"these are by far the best strings i have ever tried. i've been playing guitar for over 10 years, changing strings on my guitars at least once a month and trying different sets. there's nothing like having a new-sounding set of strings on your guitar, but when you play for hours a day, every other set of strings loses tone, loudness, and gets that dead sound very quickly. These strings sounded and played terrific when i put them on, and now two weeks later they still sound like new. GREAT STRINGS! "
