The neck is made of a composite material known as Stratabond, which is made up of layers of dyed birch veneer laminated together under low pressure. This is an extremely durable material and creates an environmentally sound option. This model is versatile enough for a wide variety of musical styles, and is a good match for intermediate to pro players.
The Martin DC-1E is equipped with state-of-the-art Fishman Presys Plus pickup and electronic system featuring full volume and 3-way bass, mid, and treble tone control and an onboard digital chromatic tuner. The Fishman Presys Plus also adds Brilliance and Notch controls. The Brilliance control accentuates higher frequencies for added sparkle. Or you can lower the Brilliance to reduce finger noise. The Notch serves as a filter to remove low-end feedback.
