The amp I had before had the same watts, but it was a squier. I bought this at Sam Ash because it was around my budget. Great amp, it blew away the squier amp. Better sound, great tone, very portable. Ideal for practise. This is like a small amp with a very big heart, I use it with a boss metal zone pedal and it's heavy! Recomend to any heavy metal junkie. Saving up to upgradte to a 100 watt Marshall amp!

I am a permanent amateur musician; I play for myself because I enjoy doing so and would never torture anyone else with my 'music'. I originally purchased this amp because of the price and the company name.

I use this mainly with an old, early 80's Peavey Patriot through a Digitech 250 effects box out to a Boss RC20XL loop pedal.

Within the first week of using it I noticed the amp would get a feedback like whistle if I played too long on the 1st string above the 12th fret. This would happen anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes after play, regardless of the effect (although certain effects seemed to cause the effect faster than others). The only way to stop it was to power off the amp.

At the time I thought that perhaps I had a problem in the rest of my set-up and meant to look at it later. Everytime I got back to look at it something else came up.

Well, one move (work) and many months later I have looked at the problem and it is definitly the amp. I am past my 90 return policy (my own fault) so I have no choice but to find another practice amp.

It will be a long time before I try another amp from this Marshall.

This amp sounds great. I had the old MG and this is a big improvement. Great in my studio or warming up backstage.

I was in the market for a practice amp, and believe me, I'm on a budget. If you're looking for a nice little amp for practicing in your room, maybe even band practice, you can't beat[$]. This little 10 watt gives you access to a pretty wide range of sounds. Keep in mind that it is just a practice amp, so you won't be getting "absolutely mind blowing professional quality sound" or whatever, but still, its flexible, a lot louder than I expected, and cheap. I am honestly and truly happy with my purchase of this little amp.
