The Mapex Black Panther Blaster delivers a variety of sounds to satisfy numerous musical situations. The main body of the 8.5mm shell is made from a 5.1mm maple structure producing that full bodied maple sound. In order to add a a little different sonic twist, Mapex has added 3.4mm Walnut reinforcing rings mixing in a darker tone and adding to the overall body.
The Mapex Black Panther Sonic Saver hoops provide the right balance of tone and tuning accuarcy for the shell. The hoop's smooth inward curve makes for a unique rim shot sound and at the same time providing a comfortable cross stick surface. The new Black Panther piston strainer and piston butt plate guarantee snare tensioning accuracy and positiong; smooth, quiet and quick.
