Comments about Sennheiser MD421II Cardioid Dynamic Microphone:
"The Sennheiser MD421 is by far my favorite microphone for many reasons. It not only looks good, but it can be used in so many different situations that it's truly a professional tool. This mic has a long history and has always been the Swiss-Army knife of professionals. I first ran into it, when I was growing up in Germany: Every television reporter and radio newscaster was using it. Back then it was still called MD411 and sported a gray housing. Over the past four years, it's been on every gig as my main vocal mic and in the studio I have used it for drums (excellent low end reproduction), for voice (it preserves the speaker's natural voice character, with sibilance and pops never being a problem) and last not least, to mike guitar amps. This dynamic mic doesn't even need phantom power, and it keeps on going gig after gig. I recommend that you handle the mic with care, because I found that the screen dents easily if you have a rough singer dropping it. Although I own other excellent mics, I'm getting the most mileage out of this beauty. Thinking about upgrading? Just listen to it and you'll agree: it's simply the best in its class. "
