M-Audio ProFire 610 Firewire Audio Interface
Here we have a little black box. Perhaps you’re familiar with those science fiction literary works. This one, however, is by no means fiction! This is indeed science but rest assured, it’s oh so very real! The M-Audio Profire 610 Audio Interface is an amazing piece of work, so let’s have a look at all this little black box brings to the desktop. The M-Audio Profire 610 is a high quality, high definition audio and midi interface connectable via firewire and capable of recording up to 24-bit/192kHz. It features 2 of M-Audio’s award-winning Octane microphone preamps, well known for their crisp, clear, transparent sound. They are extremely quiet and provide ample headroom. Followed by a high definition, premium AD/DA converters, great professional results can be achieved making the Profire 610 a complete, front-end solution for your computer based recording rig. There are a total of 6 inputs and 10 outputs. The inputs consist of 2 XLR/TS combo jacks (mic pres or instruments), 2 ¼” TRS balanced line inputs and a stereo S/PDIF input. The outputs offer 8 ¼” TRS balanced lineouts and a stereo S/PIDIF output. The front panel has 2 stereo headphone jacks, each with a dedicated volume knob. The 2-firewire ports around the back make life easy when you have more than one firewire device to hook up to your system. Very thoughtful. The MIDI in and out round out the connectors and complete the plethora of connectivity options. Nice indeed! There’s a user-assignable master volume knob on the front panel. It provides flexible control for a host of functions. Two gain control knobs adjust your input signal into the 2 mic pres. The M-Audio Profire 610 is compatible with major audio software including Pro Tools, Logic, GarageBand, Cubase, Sonar and Live. It can also be used as a standalone mic pre/A/D-D/A converter. The M-Audio Profire 610 is an elegant, affordable, front and back-end solution for high-definition recording and monitoring with your computer.

The manufacturer's warranty covers parts for one year and labor for one year from date of purchase. The warranty excludes damage from misuse, abuse, and contains other exclusions.
