Ludwig wanted to pay tribute to Mr. Bill Ludwig II so they set out to make a unique, limited edition snare. This professional snare features titanium shells by renown drum designer Ronn Dunnett. The 6.5"x14" snare features a thin, light .035" titanium shell. At 800 grams / 1.8lbs this is the lightest, thinnest snare drum on the planet! Complete with stamped chrome plated hoops, adjustable air vent, 10 Imperial lugs and Dunnett snare strainer and butt plate. A specially minted drum badge featuring Bill Ludwig II - "The Chief" - commemorates his historical contributions to drums and drumming.

This "drum" is an atrocity, and it's existence proves the old adage "There's a sucker born every day". How this thing is a tribute to William Ludwig is a total mystery, other than the hideous badge on it. What does titanium, adjustable venting, and a clunky die-cast strainer made in Taiwan have to do with Ludwig? This is a shoddy, over-priced Supra look-alike that really is a thinly veiled tribute to the arrogance its "designer". For the same $$$ you can get a couple Slingerland Radio Kings or 3-4 real Ludwig snare drums that will out-perform this thing 10 to 1. And the lugs don't even seem to fit the shell correctly! Junk.

This "drum" looks like it was designed and assembled by blind monkeys[...]. The strainer is a cast Taiwanese nightmare bolted to a thin shell of titanium, festooned with lugs that don't fit well because of the poor design of the shell. Not worth your hard-earned money, not by a long shot. Would give zero stars, but there's a one-star minimum. :-(
