The 55-01 Skyline Series 5 String Bass begins with a double cutaway ash body that is shaped and contoured to maximize comfort. This workhorse continues Lakland’s ongoing tradition of industry leading quality. The neck is made from flat-sawn Rock Maple with Graphite Reinforcement Bars, and features a tapered width that begins at 1.8” at the nut and expands to 3.3” at the final fret. The maple fingerboard features traditional dot inlays and is topped off with 22 frets. The body design features a deeper cut lower horn which allows access to upper register notes for even wider tonal range. The Lakland 55-01 Skyline Series 5 String Bass features a 35-inch scale neck which makes for killer low B's with just the right amount of tension! That is why the low tones on Skyline 5-string basses boom with piano-like clarity! The electronics feature a pair of Bartolini MK-1 split-coil soapbars and an MK-1 onboard, 3-band buffered, active preamp. You can dial in a wide range of tones from traditional to cutting edge contemporary. Finishing touches include a Lakland Dual Access bridge, which allows a choice of strings thru the body or a “top load” (string-thru-bridge) set-up. Case not included.
