The KRK ERGO is a sturdily built metal unit with a sweet set of features that recordists of all levels will appreciate. The large volume control along with integrated headphone amplifier means it functions beautifully as a studio monitor controller. Top panel buttons for monitor switching are easy to control and allow you to switch from 1 set of monitors (A) to another set or a subwoofer (B/Sub).
The ERGO’s onboard digital processing along with the accompanying software automatically corrects offending room issues using the included measurement microphone. You just place the mic at your perfect sitting position, adjust your speaker levels, and record the left and right calibration signals. You’ll then take a few more measurements (at higher and lower positions) so the KRK ERGO can gather as much room information as possible before calibrating the filters for perfect compensation. This foolproof process takes all of 10 minutes and results in a dramatic improvement in your listening experience.
