Great tool for the intermediate player and above (the skill of the guitarist directly relates to the learning curve the Jellifish has). It gives the guitar a very bright, huge sound. When you use the chorus effect, it takes most of the bass sound out and leaves the high end. This isn't a bad thing, but it seems to be harder to hit the right notes (on an acoustic guitar). If your strings are older and lost their high end twang, this product will breath new life into them for a few months more, or until the strings break.

It also has the ability to create an almost endless amount of tones, all depending on the way you hold and play with it. On this topic, the bow effect is a little disappointing/misleading. What it implies is a way to make a bowed string sound out of the guitar (basically eliminating the attack in place of a perfectly smooth tone, aka legato). Although this is impossible, I will give it the fact that it sounds like a stringed instrument playing notes with an attack.

It can also help in creating certain percussive sounds, an example being the way it can primitively imitate a hi-hat while hitting a string. This also relates to the tone, and I'm further exploring this concept.

The only downfall I've found is the fact it takes an incredible amount of technique to get the exact sound you want.

"The Jellifish Plectrum Effect, as the company likes to call it, is a piece of garbage. If you use ANY pressure at all you will bend the tines within the first couple minutes. The company says that you can just pull the bent tines off and it's as good as new. Well, think about this, how well is the Jellifish Plectrum Effect made if they already know that it is going to break and what to do to temporarily fix the problem? The sounds you get out of it also, Chorus!, Pluck! and Bow! are a bunch of garbage too. Save your money and buy some regular picks, or better yet, save the money you would have spent on the first 5 Jellifish and get yourself a stomp box. You WILL have to replace it if you buy it."
