I have an epiphone sg and an explorer too. But this guitar is my new favorite. The neck is very smooth and plays great. A lot of people have been complaining about the pickups, but I like them a lot. They sound great distorted and clean. They are great for metal and hard rock. It is very easy to sit with if you put the small fin in between your legs. It sits perfectly in there and is very comfortable to play. It isn't a heavy guitar, so standing up is even better than sitting down. The only complaint, which is more towards guitar stands then the guitar, is that it will not sit on a guitar stand. The big fin hits the ground and tilts it. It also fits in my epiphone explorer case which is like an added bonus. Go buy this guitar.

This guitar is awesome. The looks are awesome, just like the RR5. This is more than half the price of it. The pickups could have been better though. I think I'll get a pair of seymour duncans. The feel is better than I thought. If your a Randy Rhoads fan on a budget, get this guitar.

I have been a musician for 25+ years so I know a good guitar when I come across one, and this is a good guitar! First of all its not to heavy, but its a solid built instrument, it feels good in your hands. The raw neck and flat fretboard are perfect! Although the pick-ups are not active and "Duncan Designed" they sound really good. They produce good distortion and aren't muddy or hum like some cheap pups. Im not much of a tremolo user so it not having one isn't a problem. As far as the looks of the guitar it is absolutely beautiful! I am very pleased with this guitar and would recommend this guitar to anyone, and at this price it's a steal !

Man this guitar plays amazingly well for a guitar in this price range, add the fact that it is dedicated to Randy Rhodes and it catches the heart of those who loved him.The pickups really do suck, but for about [$] you can change them to much better ones easily enough. This thing has smooth action, stays in tune fairly well and plays all around excellently. Cheers to Jackson and Randy for bringing us this smoking hot machine!

Definitely a great guitar. Everything is perfect. I prefer neck through's such as the RR5(1700) and the RR1 (2100), but if you just dont have the cash, the "exclusively" RR5 paint job is right here. Just change the pickups. My suggestions as a guitarist playing for 3 years: Put a dimebucker in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan (not designed like stock)Distortion in the neck if you want a metal sound,or switch the neck to a Jazzy BB King for all-around. It all depends on what you like. try some EMG's or anything. That's what great about this guitar. YOu can switch the pups on the ccar ride to a performance, the wiring is sooo easy! And against common misconception, it's not hard to sit with. And for some reason if your chutzpah isnt big enough to handle the wing in between your legs, this guitar isnt one you would normally play sitting down. This is a supreme Heavy Metal GUITAR!!!!!!!!

This guitar has great tone, playability, very fast neck that lets you fly down the fretboard, and some awesome duncans to go with it. The only problem with this guitar is that it doesn't have a floyd rose but i never use that anyway so it suits me just fine. One other thing is that it's kind of difficult to play sitting down.
