I teach recorder to 20 students and had all my students buy this recorder. The reason I purchased these was for the low price and assorted colors. Out of the 20 recorders purchased, two have broken due to students dropping them. I had other students drop other branded recorders and they did not break. If you want long term, pay an extra $2 and go for the Yamaha. For now on, I will be buying the cream colored Yamahas.

This insturument is great for elementary music classes. They are rugged enough to stand up to most accidents, easy to clean (even in a dishwasher) and very colorful to the delight of students.
