Ibanez SR505 5 String Bass (Brown Mahogany)

Bassists who want the power and versatility of active electronics and the speed of the fastest neck available have made the Ibanez Soundgear SR505 bass standard equipment in every genre. The Bartolini MK1-5 pickups and 3-band EQ offers just about every tone you could ask for; from the smoothest of jazz to downright dirty and aggressive rock! SR basses offer thinner necks with thinner nuts than traditional basses for easier playability and the mahogany bodies are lightweight, balanced and comfort contoured. The 5-piece Wenge/bubinga neck and rosewood fingerboard is standard, as is the Accu-cast B-25 bridge and Cosmo black hardware. Case not included.

I have four basses total and this is the one I just can't put down, its so much lighter then my other Ibanez and BC Rich Basses. Its fast and it just sounds Great!!!

I am actually teaching myself, and it seems easy and playing around with it is really cool. I also brought it to make my brother jealous bc he plays the bass way before me but im learning quickly. beautiful color pick up is great. just kinda scared to scratch it. and fret buzzes but then again i am a beginner. for the price its def a good buy. and beginner. I've been playing my Ibanez SR505 for 6 months now, and it's truly an outstanding instrument, I'm very happy with it. I've been playing bass since I was 15 and now I'm 42. I've played everything from Pop to Funk to Metal to Jazz Fusion to Praise and worship. The Bartolini pickups have an amazing sound for any type of music, and the radius from the low end of the neck to the high end is perfect. You can easily customize your tone in so many different ways, its like having a built in effects box inside of the bass.

And to make everything complete, the beautiful craftsmanship with the mahogany body and rosewood fingerboard will really make you stand out on stage or anywhere. I use my fingers, thumb, and I tap all over the neck, and I get outstanding tone all the way up to the 24th fret. The SR505 is nice and light, I can peform for hours without having to stop and have shoulder therapy...I love my Ibanez SR505 it's just plain fun to play, you can't go wrong...

I've had this bass about 1 year and a half now its an ok bass i play it in the jazz band at my school and I've noticed when i take solos sometimes ill hit some dead notes which obviously bad when on a gig. VERY durable I've taken this to school every day since the beginning of the scool year and its now march. so pretty durable. gets a nice finger sound but not a great "slap" sound. again dead notes in the second octave but what do you expect?

Other than this bass needing a slight neck adjustment, this bass is sweet! Great feeling neck and sweet sounding pickups.You can get some great tones out of this bass. Well worth the money.BUY IT!

Low action, Great feel, Bartolini pickups, Good spacing, and a thinner neck to make it bass friendly for anyone! Ibanez did a very good job, I'm pleased.
