The Ibanez S Premium S970W is carved from mahogany and features a stunning Claro Walnut top. The double cutaway, ultra-thin body design is heavily contoured for maximum player comfort. The body also features white binding along the edges and compliments the body beautifully while retaining the Ibanez S series tradition that dates back to 1987.
This iconic guitar is outfitted with a metal approved H-S-H electronics schematic that will deliver the metal tone you crave. The bridge and neck pickups are high output, Ibanez designed CAP humbuckers, with a CAP single coil in the middle position. The S Premium S970W has a 5 way pickup switch which allows for infinite tonal possibilities in tandem with a simplified single volume, single tone knob control system.
The neck is carved into Ibanez’s famous “Wizard” profile and is constructed from 5-piece Maple/Walnut laminate and adorned with a bound rosewood fingerboard, 24 jumbo frets on an ultra-flat 15.74” radius which allows for maximum velocity soloing and effortless string bending. The S970W is topped off with an Ibanez ZR2 locking tremolo system with ZPS3 Spring System for radical trem effects and incredible tuning stability. and withstand even the most aggressive soloing.
