SampleTron is a new virtual instrument from IK Multimedia and Sonic Reality that combines the authentic recreation of “Tron” sounds such as Mellotrons, Chamberlins, and the Optigan with the powerful SampleTank engine to take those nostalgic sounds into the new millennium. No other product allows you to manipulate, process and stretch such gritty, emotional and quirky Lo-Fi sounds like SampleTron. It’s a virtual instrument made for many styles, from hip hop to electronic to classic rock and offers some of the most unique and musically useful tones you can imagine. SampleTron offers over 640 presets and 260 multi-samples from 17 rare and vintage Mellotrons, Chamberlins, and their derivatives like the Optigan and Rhythmaster.

Based on the SampleTank engine, SampleTron includes physical modeling effects and IK’s exclusive STRETCH™. With the combination of the two, SampleTron is able to offer top-quality features such as one-click sound browsing, multiple synth-engines including real-time harmonic manipulation of the waves, built-in vintage multi-effects and fast loading samples for studio or playing live. SampleTron not only highlights the classic vintage sound of these unique instruments, but also goes far beyond by combining it with the modern technology and sound shaping controls of the SampleTank engine.

Over 2 GB of sounds from 17 rare and vintage “Tron” instruments, such as Mellotrons®, Chamberlins™, and their derivatives, accurately sampled and fully produced with 32 built-in effects and the ability to use 4 effects per part. Over 260 multisamples have been meticulously sampled by Sonic Reality and assembled into over 640 presets to showcase the entire sonic palette that these instruments can cover. The sounds can be played un-looped for more faithful realism to the original instruments, or looped, for more modern flexibility. 4 “Tron” specific controls have been programmed into most of the sounds to give quick and easy control over useful parameters such as sustain, tone, key release, and noise resonance.
