i have had mine for over a year and im happy with it.im am normaly a guild man but my guilds were lost in a house fire.i bought the humming bird til i could aford to replace the guilds.but it was good enough that im in no rush.

I had my first Epiphone Hummingbird Acoustic Guitar for less than two months, at first, I will admit that I was proud of this guitar. It really sounded good. Out of the box, there were a few cosmetic things that bugged me regarding the finish, but I for the price, I figured I could live with it. Two months later, just outside of the return policy- seemingly to me without any reason this guitar starts buzzing from the 9th to the 14th fret.The wood dried out so badly that it warped my fretboard and pulled the wood down by the bridge away from the strings causing the buzzing. The fix would require supports put inside the sound hole by the bridge and the guitar would have to be extensively humidified. All this happens in less than two months. At first I couldn't return it, then Gibson wouldn't warranty it, but finally I was able to exchage it, and today i got my replacement, it was worse than the first. The Finish has ripples in it, cracks in the inlays, scratches all over, white paint splatters on the red paint, crack in the wood that was sanded on finished anyway and you can tell it was sanded and not a weather crack like gibson will say cause you can see circular scratches under the smooth finish... these are all manufacture problems... probably a bad batch of guitars, but gibson won't admit it. They claim it's the shippers or the weather or the retailers or you... I'm am so disapointed that next time I'm just going to buy a martin. [...] I'll never get another one of these again- Maybe it was just bad luck... who knows...

This is an amazing guitar. I used a nylon string for a few months to get the feel of the guitar and then I got this one. It's amazing! It sounds great, it's beautiful, and it's a good price! The only thing is that the string life isn't as long as some other guitars, but that's just a small problem that can be fixed by replacing the strings a few months later.

Before I bought this guitar, I had been playing for 8 months on a 3/4 nylon. With this guitar, building up strength came easily and this is an absolutely amazing guitar. It has a beautiful, rich sound. However, don't put your capo too far up on the fret-board because it will deduct from the sound of the guitar. I use this guitar for everything.

I practice and play with this guitar since I purchased it 8 months ago. I have a Martin HD28 for my serious stuff, but the Epiphone Hummingbird is great to play when I don't want my Martin abused. I had to do some fret work and setup to make the guitar to my liking, but it was easy to do. The action was suprising good and I only cleaned up the ends of the frets. Tuners were very good and it stays in tune. I don't know how they can make such a great guitar at such a low price.
