Hartke 4.5 XL 4x10 with HF Driver XL Series Cabinet

Professionals choose the XL Series because of its carefully calibrated and tuned cabinet design and high quality aluminum-cone drivers. XLs produce a smooth response along with the clear, punchy attack that changed the sound of bass. Each cabinet is built tough with a shockproof metal grill, reinforced corners, recessed carry handles and a rugged covering.

Four Hartke 10" drivers and a custom 5" high-frequency speaker in a tuned, ported cabinet. Handles up to 400 watts at 8 ohms. Wide frequency response of 30 Hz to 12 kHz for more coverage.

I owned the predecessor (Hartke XL) which is a very fine cabinet. The addition of the 5" driver gives and extremely warm sound, especially for 5-string basses but has the balls for slappin and poppin. I would not want to play with any other bass cabinet!!

Having had a 4.5 since 95 I decided to by another one. The new production models are just as good as the old so you know the design has stood the test of time and the Hartke's quality hasn't diminished.

It's an excellent sounding product. It's able to handle extended range bass guitars without distorting and sounding muddy. Great for funk slap bass playing but it also gives you enough lows to back up a reggae group. The only problem I have is transporting it by myself. It is quite heavy. Other than that I have no complaints!

"I bought the 4.5XL cabinet when it first came out and loved the extended range. I mainly play 5-strings so it was necessary. After three years I sold it to a friend and purchased a Carvin 2-10/1-15 rig and immediately regretted selling the Hartke. The Carvin rig was fine for combo work and small venues, but it would get lost on larger stages so, I purchased a used Ampeg 8-10 SVT cabinet. After lugging the Ampeg refrigerator around for 6 mos or so I traded it straight across for my old Hartke 4.5XL. The Hartke is the complete package, tone, portability, loudness and sturdy construction. No wonder my hero Will Lee has played them for so long."
