Henry Sapoznik is a world-renowned authority on Yiddish music who has performed, collected, and written about klezmer music since the mid-70s. He has produced numerous reissued and new recordings of Jewish and traditional music, and served as a consultant on six documentary films. .His articles have appeared in the New Grove’s Dictionary of American Music, The Journal of American Folklore, The Jewish Almanac, and many other scholarly and popular journals and books. Sapoznik is the co-founder and director of Living Traditions, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to the study of Yiddish culture.
