The DVD is 90 minutes, with less than a half an hour of real lesson time. JOhn McCarthy is a gifted guitarist, but his dvd's tend to be more of a Stage Show than a guitar lesson. Lots and lots of him jamming away, with the lessons being more of a by-line rather than the content. I tried some of the rockhouse dvd's n the past (over three years ago) and gave those away. The book is hands down the best learning tool in this package. Get a copy of the pentatonic scales from a free download, and listen to your favorite band and you'll have a better experience. The last 10 minutes of this dvd are sales pitches for their other products. Some Bonus!!!

"I got this DVD and have to say it was awesome! John McCarthy laid it all out in an easy to understand format. I was impressed with the amount of instruction Rock House put in one DVD. The instructional booklet had everything tabbed out, plus additional information and the best part of it all was that just by buying the DVD you are automatically a member of the Rock House Method website and all you have to do is put in the member number that's on the inside of the DVD case! The website rockhousemethod.com is jam packed with all kinds of support from backing tracks, tips, a place to ask the instructor a question, an exclusive forum for rock house members, free downloads and additional info from the DVD's.
