Guitar Research JX16RL Lefty Eddie Durham Hollow Body Electric Guitar (Red)
Guitar Research thinks every guitarist should have at least one hollow body jazz box. They offer a new limited edition series of well constructed and smartly priced models to honor the 100th birthday of Eddie Durham, pioneer of the electric guitar. The JX16 is made from maple with full binding and a generous 16" cutaway for easy upper fret playing. The maple neck supports a rosewood fingerboard that features creme binding, pearloid block inlays, and Eddie Durham's signature at the 12th fret. A set of custom wound, vintage style humbuckers deliver that authentic jazz tone. Additional deluxe appointments include a rosewood-based adjustable bridge, vintage style tailpiece and tuners, and a tortoise pickguard with commemorative engraving. Red finish. Includes a deluxe hard case.
Guitar Research celebrates the 100th anniversary of Eddie Durham, the pioneer of the electric guitar. Eddie Durham was the first to develop and record on an amplified guitar. He taught his single string technique to Charlie Christian and wrote many of Count Basie's hits.
