I started playing the drums in 2002, I got the groove percussion as my fist set. to me as a new and beginner drummer I liked the sound. As I improved I started to loose the liking and was asking myself for more. I ended up in 2009 buying a gretsch drum set from samash, and I fell in love. its a great set to start off with at a young age but when you get better at playing think about upgrading. it is as if you are going from having a Honda to a Ferrari.

Let's see: It actually is really easy to upgrade, just add some Sabian B8's to start with and in becomes not bad. I also have a Pearl Hi Hat stand, but I prefer the Groove Percussion one better because it has open legs, big enough to fit a double bass pedal. The toms need new heads unless you find that TINY sweet spot while tuning. I've only found this on the two Rack Toms. The floor tom and bass heads are just.. bad. The snare isn't bad. And I like the boom stand, it's pretty sturdy.

This set is not bad actually, I've had it for a little over 5 years, I've replaced the tom batter heads only, and it sounds great. I'm going to soon get cymbals. Just because it's not a big brand doesn't mean bad quality. It's good, but if you have a choice, you should invest in something a little nicer. So no, I do not recommend this to a friend, but that does not mean it's not a good set.

I got this kit when I first started playing drums. It is a really great set if you're just starting out or for practicing. If you want to improve the sound, just get some Evens g2 heads and some of those rings that cut down on the drum's reverb. They sound pretty good and are a good buy for the money.

overall nice set,I upgraded hardware, cymbals and snare drum. Good as any low cost set, better with upgrades.

very basic set. hardware isn't the best but good enough for the beginner. this was my first drum set about 5 years ago. its still my only set. i've made some upgrades like better hardware, remo heads, zildjian cymbals, and added another floor tom. great set to learn on. sounds much better with good quality heads.

bottom line: if you want to keep this set for a while and use it for gigs- be prepared to dump some money into it. the good quality shells are worth the money but everything else needs to be replaced to get a good sound.

i have been playing drums for 6 years and i like the look and stability of this drum set.reverb might not be 2 great but just about everything else is good
