Comments about Groove Percussion PS1300 3.5X13 Brass Shell Piccolo Snare Drum:
My girlfriend got me one of these for our anniversary, and it rocks! The first thing I noticed was the brass shell, which is a lot more golden and reflective in appearance than the picture would have you believe. I tuned it up nice and tight for a piccolo pop, but it can actually be a whole lot punchier than I expected from such a shallow snare drum. It even sounds good with the stock heads, with a little muffling. Overall, this is a spectacular drum, especially for its price range!

"For $[...], this is absolutely excellent. The drum sounds pretty good even with the stock heads, but I'd recommend upgrading at least the batter side right away, even if it is 1/4th the cost of the drum. About my only complaint is the somewhat cheap-looking coating on the lugs, but for the price it's not even a valid complaint. Get one."

"I recently purchased the PS-1300 Brass Piccolo Snare Drum and it exceeded my expectations. It looks good and sounds great. The sound is very tight and crisp. Rimshots crack like a .22 pistol. I've tried out some piccolo snares in stores that cost around $[...] and the PS-1300 sounds just as good. For a solid piccolo snare, this one would be hard to beat. Carl S."
