I have had this pedal for almost a year now. I play about two hours a day and it has done a tremendous job! The only problem I've had was the spring broke about two months ago and i replaced it with a gibraltar spring and it has worked like a dream ever since!!!

Had it for 2 years then one day....the chain just snapped off. It served me well and I loved it. Beater was light, and it moved very quick. But it is just a $[$] pedal by Groove Percussion. If you don't use it all the time, it would probably last longer. But this was my main pedal and 2 years was all I got out of it. Time to upgrade.

"This pedal came with the 4 piece jazz kit I got. It's not a bad pedal, but there were two things about it I didn't like. The first was, I like my pedals at a fairly loose tension. This pedal is very smooth and has good action at higher spring tensions, but at lower spring tensions, it doesn't have same fluid action and feels kind of sloppy. There is a definite point in the spring tension where this problem goes away, and the fluid action returns, but it was too tight for me at that point. But that's just me, you might like it tighter, so it may not bother you. The second problem I noticed was the chain drive cam (the part near the beater with the ""groove"" where the chain actually rests) is adjustable horizontally on the bar, but there is an additional part directly beneath this cam that it actually clamps to. (We'll call it ""the driver"" for simplicity's sake). ""The driver"" is adjusted via an allen wrench screw, and if it's this screw is not super, super, SUPER tight, ""the driver"" will come loose, and no matter how tight the chain drive cam is on top of it (adjusted via a drum key bolt), the pedal will feel loose and sloppy, regardless of spring tension. Mine would loosen up while I played, and I was at a [...] show room today and one of these pedals was on display, and it had the same problem. It's kind of hard to explain, the best way I can describe this problem is if you've ever had a pedal where you can adjust the beater angle independantly from the footboard angle (you can't on this pedal), imagine loosening the bolt to adjust the beater angle, getting it where you want it, but then not tightening the bolt all the way, therefore feeling loose and sloppy. I hope I did a good enough job describing this for you. Overall, just an okay pedal. I recommend getting the Pacific SP400 single pedal. It's a much better pedal, and it's only ten dollars more."
