This is a well made drumset, and I have checked all within this price range and none can come close. The only kit to buy in this price range. A batter head upgrade and some proper tuning, and you have a kit that is as good as the mid $500 to $600 range of the major manufacturers.

Excellent Kit for intermediate to advanced players. I purchased the sea blue set & the looks are killer. My kit has minor, almost unnoticable flaws on the finish. Sound is 8.0 out of 10. The included hardware is heavy-duty, but not quite top shelf. Longevity could increase if memory locks were included on mounted toms;Easily remedided with aftermarket accessories. For the budget-minded,this is an ideal set that could very well last for years with the right upgrades over time.

"Overall, an excellent kit for the money. I chose the Ocean Blue color, and they do look beautiful! The sizes are 8"" x 10"", 9"" x 12"", 11"" x 14"" and a 5.5""x14"" snare and a 16"" x 22"" bass drum. The description online says it's an 18"" x 22"", but it's actually only a 16""x 22"". Also, the online description doesn't mention a snare stand, but one IS included. The finish is a beautiful, high-gloss lacquer. Very stunning! There were some minor flaws in the finish, but nothing major or noticeable. Appearance I would give a 9 out of 10. Sound: This is very subjective, depending on what heads you use, how you tune etc. I will say the shells are thin and are very resonant. Head selection will be the biggest factor. I think thinner shells sound best with a 2-ply head, but that's just me. The snare and the bass sound spectacular, and the toms sound good too, although with the stock heads (and a 1-ply head that I switched to) they sounded ""pingy"" and a little thin. They are VERY resonant though, with lots of sustain. (I also augmented the toms with RIMS mounts). If tuned properly with the ""right"" heads for you, I would give the sound a 8.5 out of 10. Hardware: All very functional, sturdy and easy to use. 9.5 out of 10! Construction quality: There were some quality control issues. Many of the lugs on my kit were installed ""crooked"" (not straight up and down). This was an easy fix, to just loosen the screw on the inside, straighten out the lug and re-tighten, but it was still a hassle and should not have to be done. Also, the 14"" tom mounting bracket had a shorter screw (that the ""T"" handle screws onto) then the 10"" and 12"" toms. When I loosened the ""T"" bolt to put it on the arm, the ""T"" bolt would fall off, because the screw was too short. I fixed this by buying a longer screw at the hardware store, but again, this should not have to be done for a brand new kit. Finally, to improve this kit for the future (other than ratchet up the quality control several notches), I would like to see memory locks on the tom arms, an 8-lug 14"" tom (it's currently just a 6) and the included bass drum claws are very cheap and generic looking. I upgraded to die-cast claws, and they look MUCH better and more modern. Overall, this is a real nice kit, and I am glad I made the purchase. With a few upgrades (RIMS mounts, new claws and new heads), this kit is a real winner!"
