Inspired by the great American car companies from the 1950's, Motor City Black adds a new color dimension to the innovative Gretsch Renown ‘57 drum set which is also available in Motor City Blue. All drums feature the distinctive '57 Chevron, which features an aluminum panel with raised edges and embossed badge. Each drum has its own sized chevron, scaled to symmetrically fit that specific drum size.

Designed for the touring drummer who requires "That Great Gretsch Sound" the Renown series offers incredible tone by retaining classic Gretsch features. Attributes include USA Rock Maple shells, 30-degree bearing edges, die-cast hoops, GTS suspension systems and Silver Sealer interior finishes. Gretsch Renown projects a warm, distinctively Gretsch sound with an added contemporary punch.
Bass drums include matching 10-ply maple wood hoops, die-cast claw hooks and heavy-duty telescopic spurs.
All Renown Maple snare drums are 10-ply with 45-degree bearing edges and a coated EVANS G1 batter head for increased snare attack.
GTS suspension mount systems come standard on all mounted toms to add projection, tone and resonance. Die-cast top and bottom hoops increase tuning stability and project focused tom tone with increased sustain.
