Midtown Standard Bass with Hardshell Case
The Gibson Midtown Standard Electric Bass Guitar is a full-scale bass with the look of an ES-style instrument, but made of routed solid woods for great punch, sustain and resistance to feedback. Gibson USA designed the Midtown Standard bass to be different from any other bass they’ve crafted. The result has the great looks, tone, versatility, and feel that is sure to make it a classic.
A set of two classic Gibson bass pickups gives the Midtown Standard Bass unprecedented tonal flexibility, and Gibson’s renowned craftsmanship yields flawless playability, making this bass the perfect choice for virtually any style. All this and the Gibson Midtown Standard bass oozes pure Gibson class in hand-sprayed nitrocellulose finish.
To set the Midtown Standard bass apart from all the other four-strings, Gibson USA has redrawn the blueprint for the semi-solid bass. They start with a solid mahogany back and chamber it for acoustic response, leaving a solid central core for the bridge and pickups, and more rigid rims than found on the traditional semi-acoustic. The body is capped with a solid maple top and top is trimmed in traditional cream binding.
The Gibson Midtown Standard Bass’s one-piece mahogany neck is glued-in using Gibson's acclaimed mortis and tenon joint, and profiled to a comfortably rounded shape that measures .860 inches at the 1st fret and .960 inches at the 12th. The rich, brown baked-maple fingerboard carries 20 medium frets, and is trimmed with cream binding and topped with a PLEK-cut Corian nut.
Each bass comes protected in a Gibson USA hardshell case and includes an owner's manual and adjustment literature, and is covered by Gibson's Limited Lifetime Warranty and 24/7/365 Customer Service.
