Gibson recaptures the glory days of the1970’s with the new SG Special 70's Left Handed Tribute Electric Guitar. Fifty years ago, Gibson introduced the SG, and it went on to become one of the most recognizable, iconic guitars in popular music history, and appeared on numerous history altering recordings throughout the 60’s and 70’s. This iconic guitar boasts the same legendary body style and construction of the guitar that was original slated to be the second edition of the Les Paul. The mahogany body, with its classic double-cutaway lightweight, thin, beveled edge design; is paired with a set-in maple neck. The rounded profile provides incomparable player comfort. A baked maple fingerboard features 22 medium jumbo frets and 70’s style small block inlays. The electronics schematic is a slight departure from the classic SG/Les Paul formula. The SG Special 70's Tribute Electric Guitar boasts a pair of newly redesigned mini-humbucking pickups, delivering that powerful tone that you’ve come to expect from an SG. The mini-humbucker is heavily associated with the Les Paul Deluxe model that came into prominence in the early 1970’s. The redesigned pickup features a new magnet and pole piece configuration featuring dual steel blades and single Alnico V magnet, which will deliver higher output than previous mini humbucking pickups, yet still retains a vintage voice with plenty of chime. This latter day classic also boasts a chrome Tune-o-matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece for maximum sustain and vintage-style Kluson machine heads provide tuning stability.
