The neck is carved from mahogany and sports a ‘torrefied’ maple fretboard. Torrefacation is a high temperature wood treatment process that makes wood more stable and resistant, as well as enhance the grain and physical appearance to give it a more rosewood aesthetic. The satin finish gives the Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker a ‘worn-in’ feel right out of the box and you will be comfortable the moment you pick it up.
