The 2011 Firebird Studio Non-Reverse is a recreation of the legendary design that Gibson made famous in 1965, when Gibson redesigned the Firebird and gave it a more streamlined look. The 2011 Studio captures the essence of this classic and carries the tradition straight into the future.
The solid mahogany neck is glued into a 2 piece mahogany body, maximizing sustain and resonance. The body also sports a belly contour to enhance player comfort. The neck has been carved into an ultra-slim profile for high velocity soloing, and a 22 fret rosewood fingerboard tops it all off.
This current edition of the Firebird Non-Reverse has been outfitted with 3 Coil-Tapped P-90 pickups with Alnico V magnets to deliver those fat P-90 tones. The coil tapping option gives these pickups a brighter glassier tone more associated with traditional single coil pickups. Add in a 5 way switch and you’ve got endless tonal variation to choose from! The tuners have been updated with high-quality Mini Grover kidney button tuners for extreme tuning precision. A Gibson Hardshell Case is included.
