Every original detail is there, down to the Les Paul logos on at the bottom of the fingerboard and on the truss rod cover, signifying that from 1961-63 this was meant to replace the original Les Paul guitar with some important improvements. Among these were a thinner solid mahogany body with dual cutaways and a very thin heel, allowing the player to get to the highest frets with ease; a slim taper neck with 22 frets known as the "fastest neck in the world"; and three 57 Classic humbucker pickups (made to the exact same specs as the original Gibson PAF humbuckers). The pickups are wired so that, in the middle position the middle and back pickups are activated together in an out of phase mode for added sonic effects.
