The Gibson Alex Lifeson Les Paul Axcess Electric Guitar is the product of a collaboration between Gibson and the progressive rock legend himself. Combing traditional Les Paul construction with modern hardware and electronics, the Alex Lifeson Les Paul Axcess sports a two-piece top carved from beautifully figured maple, and joined to a solid, one-piece mahogany back. A quarter-sawn mahogany neck is joined to the body with a glued-in long-tenon joint, and topped with a traditional rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets and pearloid trapezoid inlays. Kluson style tuners with pearloid keystone buttons add to the traditional vibe.
The Alex Lifeson Les Paul Axcess is equipped for the modern player with a pair of Gibson humbucking pickups, with a little added output from an Alnico V-loaded 498T in the bridge position and a ceramic-loaded 496R in the neck, and custom wiring for series/parallel switching. In addition, the Floyd Rose® licensed locking vibrato will keep the guitar in tune and withstand even the most furious tremolo dive-bomb attacks.
