There is a reason that George Harrison played this guitar. The hollow-body aspect is great, so obviously you can play it acoustically, but the best part of this guitar is that you can plug it in and either have it sound like an acoustic or an electric guitar. You might think that, because of its 50-year age and hollowness, it wouldn't have good distortion, but with the neck pickup high enough, it's fine.
I would recommend getting the black version. First of all, because it's the one Harrison played, and you can't go wrong with the Beatles. Secondly, because the orange one is good for country and Elvis-style rock 'n' roll, but the black is great for pretty much everything. Thirdly, because there are gonna be people who don't like orange, but not many people don't like how black guitars look.

excellent guitar for the price. a little fret buzz but can be fixed by adjusting the action a little higher. on my guitar the paint around one edge was a little worn off, but barely noticable. i found it somewhat difficult to play fast solos higher then the 12th fret, and there was a spot on the high e-string, fret 19 and 20, that the pitch didnt change, wierd... definitely not a hard rock thrashing guitar, but an excellent jazz, and an even better classic rock guitar. Overall, an excellent guitar for the price that is enjoyable plugged or not.
