The G-DEC is the world's first product in a whole new product category - Guitar Entertainment Centers. G-DEC is a 15-Watt combo amp with an 8" Special Design speaker. It has the familiar appearance of a Blackface Fender amp with special ultra-modern features added, such as a digital LCD display screen. It was designed from the ground up by the same Fender tone-team that brought you everything from entry-level Frontman series to Fender's flagship Cyber-Twin SE. In addition to a great variety of tones and effects, the G-DEC includes desirable features never seen before in a guitar amplifier.

Drum beats, Bass lines and other instruments provide musical backing in any style and tempo

Internal synthesizer with MIDI interface allows downloading of song files via computer - load in your favorite song, play all the backing tracks through the G-DEC! Every instrument from Piano to Percussion is in there! MIDI keyboards can also be hooked up to the G-DEC to play the internal sounds.

Special effects like Reverb and Echo plus crazy, creative sound effects!

Easy-to-use automatic guitar tuner

The amp's top provides a flat surface for placing a portable CD or MP3 player; these devices can be hooked up with the G-DEC for "play-along" capability.

Internal Phrase Sampler can sample the incoming guitar signal to create loops, or song snippets from CD/MP3 may be slowed down for careful study.

Shoulder strap for easy transport

I really enjoy this amp. It gives you so many sounds and styles to explore. I think its excellent for a beginner to learn & grow with. Its a lot of fun for anyone. I think the G-Dec sounds real good. Not sure if the people complaining about sound may have a dud. In that case just bring it back. Or it may be their guitar. Not sure. I have a few different amps now two being low wattage tube amps. But I always go back at the end to jam and TRY to be creative with my G-Dec. I give it 5 stars for what it is.. a good practice tool thats a lot of fun.

This is a good amp with plenty on it. I just can't make basic sounds on it though. I just started playing maybe 2 weeks ago.

I got my GDEC at a store that wouldn't usually sell musical instruments. Ten of them were sitting on the shelf for [$], 8 months later the store had two left, and were selling them for [$]. I knew I wouldn't beat that. The amp has a ton of amazing effects without having to spend $40-80 on separate pedals. However it's confusing to make your own, and there's really no preset clean channel. It gets much more annoying than you'd think.The speaker also sounds a little muddy sometimes, and the tone is a bit hard to control, but maybe that's because I'm a beginner.The point is, it's a lot less expensive than it should be, and overall it is a great product. You can edit the presets to find your own tone (or just make that clean channel) and it's a band you can sling over your shoulder.

This amplifier has a lot of unusual features that no other amplifier has. It features assorted rhythm and bass accompaniments, like Chicago Blues. It can also be hooked up by a compact disc or MP3 player to play along a certain song.

The G-DEC comes pre-programmed with an assortment of useful tones. The built-in drum and bass section makes it a powerful tool for practice. Fender even added a handy chromatic tuner. Nice design!
