This latest edition Fender John Mayer Signature Stratocaster is a fine instrument befitting the guitarist that Rolling Stone nicknamed "Slowhand Jr." recognizing his place among a new generation of blues guitar gods. Every detail of this Strat is built to John Mayer's exacting specifications and has been refined from his experience as a collector and Fender collaborator. Central to the John Mayer Stratocaster are its three "Big Dipper" single coil pickups. The pickups were specially designed and voiced in collaboration with Mayer to scoop out the midrange and emphasize the bass and treble tones. The result is John's rich bluesy sound. Next is a thick "C" shaped maple neck with 21 Dunlop® 6105 narrow jumbo frets on an African Rosewood fretboard with a 9.5 inch radius. This arrangement give the player plenty of room to move. The neck is topped by a buffed headstock with a vintage ’50s decal Even the included INCASE padded gig bag has been specially designed by John Mayer. Lightweight with plenty of padding for protection, it also has plenty of room for accessories. The body is a wonderland of select alder with a urethane finish available in either Olympic White or Three Color Sunburst. Other features include an American Vintage synchronized tremolo with five tremolo springs (no back plate per John Mayer's request) installed at the factory, Fender/Gotoh® vintage-style tuning keys, string tree farther from the nut, '50s spagetti logo decal, and a three-ply brown shell pickguard.
