Your Highway One Stratocaster will include Super-sized frets, classic 1970s styling, 2 hot single coil Alnico-3 pickups (bridge and neck) with a reverse wound/reverse polarity hot single coil middle pickup with Alnico-3 magnets, and the famous Greasebucket tone circuit. The new pickups give your Stratocaster a rounder tone that can sound glassy and great at high gain and the reverse wound center pickup provides the guitar with hum cancelling. The Greasebucket tone circuit rolls off highs when you want it without boosting bass. The Comfort Contour body is made of Alder and sports new colors that take this amazing guitar to the next level. The thin satin nitrocellulose lacquer finish still lets the natural tone of the body wood shine through, and when coupled with the upgrades above, creates one of the most exciting U.S. made instruments in the Fender line!

this is a brilliant strat. its one of the very few guitars period that you dont have to change
when you change styles of music. classic/modern and everything in between this strat is one of the most versatile guitars on the planet. craftmanship on this strat i would compare to some of the custom shop strats. the neck is smooth and very fast. the highway one is simply brilliant and i like this strat much more than the new american standards.

i have 4 of these highway ones 2007's
tone versatility/sustain/feel this strat
has it and does it all. there one of the very few guitars period that you dont have to change everytime you change styles of music.the craftmanship ship on this strat is tops.the alnico III pickups are some of the most tone versatile pickups i'v heard in years. classic/modern tones does it all.the necks are smooth and fast and the body's i would match to some custom shop strats.the highway one is with out any doubt a much better all around strat than the new american standard. the highway one is the perfect strat/guitar.

I think the highway one is one of the best fenders I have ever played. Im usually a les paul guy but this guitar is just as good in a different way. I didnt feel any fenders were right for me until I tried this guitar.

i have this guitar and let me tell you this is a great oppurtunity,there is apsolutely no buzz or anything negative about this guitar,i reccomend this to anyone who is experienced or professional.i used to have a hagstrom ultra swede i got for $400 that had no tonal varietys or anything,when that broke after 2 months i was looking for a mexican stratocaster but then i found this american stratocaster which has a thin neck and the pickups really wale!!!i reccomend you buy this guitar i can guarentee you will not your feedback will not be negative

when i played the higheway one for the first time (late 2006 upgrade and 2007's )i knew this guitar
was a true legend in the making.ihave been playing strats since 1973. and this highway one is the best strat fender has put out in years. the tone/playabilty/sustain is top of the line. this strat is king over the american standards.
i compare the highway one strat to the custom shop strats because there just that good!

I RECENTLY PURCHASED MY DREAM GUITAR A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO, THE YGNWIE MALMSTEEN STRAT. WELL AFTER GETTING IT HOME I NOTICED THAT MY FINGERS KEPT PUSHING THE HIGH E AND LOW E STRING OFF THE FRET BOARD. I FIGURED MAYBE SINCE IT WAS SCALLOPED THAT IT WAS MAYBE ME. BUT NO THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS GUITAR AND MY DREAM SOON TURNED TO A NIGHTMARE. GUITAR WAS JUST NOT PLAYABLE, AND FROM MY RESEARCH THIS IS NOT ANYTHING NEW. SO I WAS BUMBED AND TOOK IT BACK TO SAM ASH AND DECIDED TO JUST GET A SIMPLE AMERICAN STRAT, THE HIGHWAY ONE. WOW WHAT A GREAT SOUNDING GUITAR AND IT WAS HALF THE COST OF THE MALMSTEEN! NO THE PAINT ISNT QUITE AS PRETTY AND THE MAPLE WAS NOT IN NITRO BUT THIS GUITAR JUST ROCKS! THE PICKUPS ARE VERY 60'S SOUNDING. THIS GUITAR HAS A WONDERFUL FEEL AND PLAYS GREAT! DID IT COME WITH A TWEED CASE? NO. DOES IT HAVE A NITRO NECK? NO. DOES IT HAVE DIMARZIO PICKUPS? NO. DOES IT KICK BUTT, HELL YES! I'M STILL BUMBED ABOUT THE MALMSTEEN BUT I THOUGHT I WAS GETTING A SO SO GUITAR IN THE HIGHWAY ONE, BUT BOY WAS I WRONG. SOME TIMES YOU JUST GOT TO KEEP IT SIMPLE.

My machine heads didn't match! Didn't realize it till I got home and started to tune. I did inspect it before leaving the store, but I missed this in all of the excitment. In any event, this is a wonderful guitar that will keep me busy for a long time. Perfect for playing the blues! I am sure Sam Ash will help me with my problem when I get it set up. The action is medium/low and I like it low. The low E fret buzzes on bends and chording, but that will be adjusted. The nitro finish is awesome if you like that "Tobacco Road" feel. This is my first strat and I have to say that this is a man's guitar in that you know you have real wood in hand. Maple neck is super slick, but does not have rounded board--although for me that is not an issue. Bolt-on neck says its a STRAT! Besides the one craftmanship issue that has to be resolved, I highly recommend this guitar [$] May even get cheaper as the 2008's start to appear on the wall!
