Eric Clapton’s name has been associated with Fender going back almost 50 years, when he first appeared on the scene with The Yardbirds brandishing a red Telecaster. Throughout much of his historical career, he has been associated with Fender guitars or amps. Sam Ash is proud to bring you Fender’s first artist signature amplifier line: the EC Series. Built to the exacting specifications of Clapton himself, the EC series amps are handmade in the USA and based on some of Fender’s most legendary amps. The EC Twinolux is a variation on the tweed ’57 Twin amp, and features a ’50s-era output tube bias tremolo that produces a more pronounced pulse than later Fender tremolo circuits and really captures the vibe of the late 50’s and early sixties. Another unique feature on the Twinolux is a switchable power attenuator, which reduces speaker output and can disable one speaker for even lower output. This is perfect for performing in smaller settings, where a lower volume is required. You will still be able to find that ‘sweet spot’ when dialing in your tone, without the excessive volume. Other features include a single channel with high-gain and low-gain inputs; tremolo with speed and intensity controls (can be selected with included footswitch); dual Special Design 12” Weber® speakers (by Eminence®) with alnico magnets; two Groove Tubes® 6L6GE output tubes, four 12AX7 preamp tubes and two 5U4 rectifier tubes; Mercury Magnetics custom transformers; finger-joined solid pine enclosure for warm, resonant tone; lacquered tweed covering with vintage-style brown/gold grille cloth and leather strap handle.
