The Fender Telecaster changed the music world and has been a signature instrument for guitarists throughout the decades: Jimmy Bryant, Muddy Waters, Albert Collins, Roy Buchanan, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Strummer, Merle Haggard, Danny Gatton have all forged a legacy of historic recordings on a Fender Telecaster; and that’s just naming a few. The Blacktop Telecaster Baritone offers a whole new world of tonal variety and fits into just about any setting. Play it clean for low-end rockabilly twang, or with heavy gain for some gut-crunching low-tuned power chording. Combining vintage style with a few modern appointments, features include an alder body outfitted with 2 Vintage style Telecaster single-coil pickups in the neck and middle positions. A Fender designed Blacktop Tele Humbucking pickup sits in the bridge postion. The humbucking really brings out the low-end, full-throttle growl of the baritone’s B-to-B tuning, while the 2 Single Coils deliver Vintage style Tele twang. A 5-way pickup switch allows for infinite tonal possibilities. These player-approved mods give the Blacktop Telecaster Baritone a hot-rodded feel right out of the box. A maple neck has the classic vintage tint and the rosewood fretboard boasts a more updated 9.5” radius and 22 medium jumbo frets. To accommodate the baritone set-up, the neck boasts a 27” scale.
