This distinctive finish debuted in the late 60s on their hollow-body Coronado model. Antigua finishes became available on select Fender solid-bodies with a more graduated greenish tint in 1977, on both body and pickguard. Antigua finished Fender instruments have appeared only sporadically since the late 70s and are rare finds now prized by collectors. The new special edition Antigua Precision Bass is available only in limited quantities. The Fender Antigua P-Bass stays true to the most of the original specs that made it an instant classic in the late ‘50s. Featuring an alder body with the legendary ‘comfort contour’ that was way ahead of its time. The body is outfitted with a split single-coil pickup that delivers clear, punchy, Precision Bass tones that revolutionized bass playing forever and were favored by an endless list of studio musicians and rock & roll icons throughout the decades. The Antigua Precision Bass is equipped with a modern "C" Shape maple neck with a maple fingerboard and a 9.5" radius and Vintage-style frets maximize comfort and playability.
