Fender American Standard Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar with SKB case
Miles from typical, average or ordinary in any sense, the redesigned American Standard Stratocaster HSS is a hot rod all the way, from its staggered tuners to its deep-diving tremolo. So it’s not at all standard, but it is redesigned. In fact, just about everything you can think of has been upgraded, revamped or reimagined in the new American Standard Stratocaster. New bridge, new neck, new body finish. Hotter pickups. There are even new finish options. So let’s dive in. The new American Standard Strat has a new bridge with even better bent-steel saddles—the string slot is longer now, which reduces string breakage, and improves the string break angle over the primary contact point. Talk about attention to detail! And the bridge block is copper-infused, increasing its mass for more resonance and sustain. Pick a note, any note. And just let it ring. While you wait (and wait) for that sustain to wane, take note of the new neck treatment. It’s tinted for a richer look, and the fingerboard (maple or rosewood) is buffed to a high gloss. Nice, eh? Of course, the back of the neck still has that silky, satin, Strat finish you’ve come to know and love. And speaking of the finish, the body has a thinner finish undercoat that lets it breathe and improves resonance even more. The pickups got an upgrade, too. You’ll notice at first strum that both the Tex-Mex™ single coils and the Diamondback™ humbucker are just plain hotter. They’re warmer, too, so you get output to spare and tone to die for. Don’t worry, though—they haven’t changed the hand-rolled fretboard edges or the staggered tuning machines. So if you’re in the market for a Fat Strat, there’s a new American Standard Stratocaster HSS with your name on it. Includes a molded SKB-designed case, cable, strap and polish cloth.
