The new American Standard Stratocaster HSS is a hot-rodded version of the Fender’s flagship model. The addition of a humbucker in the bridge position opens up a world of tonal possibilities that will take you far beyond a traditional Strat. The classic alder body retains its legendary ‘comfort contour’ design that was way ahead of its time. The body also features a thinner finish which allows the wood to ‘breathe’ and improve resonance and tone. The body is outfitted with a pair of high-output Fender Custom Shop Fat 50s single-coil pickups in the neck and middle positions that deliver a classic 1950s Stratocaster tone, but with more attitude thanks to the extended bass response and clean middle tones. The bridge position houses a Fender Diamondback humbucking pickup delivering that hot rods your sound. The control panel features the reliable master volume/two tone-knob configuration, along with the Delta-tone™ no-load circuit. The no-load tone pot works like a standard tone knob from positions 1-9, but at 10, it is removed from the wiring completely so that you get the full, unadulterated sonic output of your pickup. It means more output and more treble without using a booster pedal or active controls. A parchment colored pickguard, and Aged plastic pickup covers and knobs add an attractive, vintage vibe to this modern day classic. The new American Standard Stratocaster HSS is available with either a 1-piece maple neck or a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. The neck is carved into a modern C-shape profile with rich, deep neck tint, glossed neck front with satin back and boasts 22 medium jumbo frets on a slightly flatter 9.5” fingerboard radius. The flatter radius facilitates easier, cleaner string bending and faster action. Hand rolled edges will give this Stratocaster a comfortable, worn-in feel. Chrome hardware includes a Fender 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge with a high-mass copper infused bridge block for increased tone and sustain and bent steel Fender saddles. A set of Deluxe Staggered Cast/Sealed Tuning Keys improve the angle of the strings over the nut and completes the package. Finally, a protective, Fender exclusive SKB® hardshell molded case is included along with a cable, strap, and polishing cloth.
