The new American Standard Stratocaster is a fine addition to the already towering legacy of the Strat that only continues to grow. This Stratocaster features an alder body with the legendary ‘comfort contour’ design that was way ahead of its time. The body also features a thinner finish which allows the wood to ‘breathe’ and improve resonance and tone. The body is outfitted with a trio of full-sounding Fender Custom Shop Fat ’50s pickups that deliver those clear, bell-like, bright Strat tones that were the driving force behind an endless list of guitar legends. The control panel features the reliable master volume/two tone-knob configuration, along with the Delta-tone™ no-load circuit. The no-load tone pot works like a standard tone knob from positions 1-9, but at 10, it is removed from the wiring completely so that you get the full, unadulterated sonic output of your pickup. It means more output and more treble without using a booster pedal or active controls. A parchment colored pickguard, and Aged plastic pickup covers and knobs add an attractive, vintage vibe to this modern day classic. The new American Standard Stratocaster is available with either a 1-piece maple neck or a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. The neck is carved into a modern C-shape profile with rich, deep neck tint, glossed neck front with satin back and boasts 22 medium jumbo frets on a slightly flatter 9.5” fingerboard radius. The flatter radius facilitates easier, cleaner string bending and faster action. Hand rolled edges will give this Stratocaster a comfortable, worn-in feel. Chrome hardware includes a Fender 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge with a high-mass bridge block for increased tone and sustain. A set of Fender® Deluxe Staggered Cast/Sealed Tuning Keys improve the angle of the strings over the nut and completes the package.
