I got this bass a few weeks ago and I cant put it down. I compared it to all of my other squier and fender j-basses and this one, no doubt is the best. One thing I love is how fat and bright the tone is. It gives a very vintage sound. I got the Candy-Cola with a maple fingerboard, got my favorite strings, slammed on a BA II bridge and its ready to gig!
I've already tooken this bass on all my recent gigs and the bass fits any sound of playing. From jazz, to funk, to metal-this bass will get it done. Worth every penny-BUY IT!!!!!

A year ago I bought a Squier Standard Jazz Bass to learn on. I wasn't sure whether I would stick with it. After a few months, needless to say I was hooked. I wanted a bass with better tone and on the recommendation from my teacher I tried an Fender American Standard Jazz Bass at a guitar store. After trying it, I had to have one. I ordered it (Blizzard Pearl w/ maple neck) and it came Christmas eve and I have spent a lot of time since playing it. About the color of the bass, the pictures online don't do it any justice. The bass looks much better than the pictures. To me it is worth every cent I paid for it.

After playing the Fender American Standard Jazz Bass, I have found the bass for me that does it all. The sound is amazing. This Fender American Std. Jazz has passive pick ups, but has more out put than a Fender Standard Jazz. A great boom sound, and the rounded neck and finger board is the finishing touch to a top of the line bass. Extremely clean and smooth action on the neck. This bass is the one you want to definitely try for yourself. I had the Fender Precision and the Jazz Bass plugged in, and chose the Jazz with 3-Color Sunburst, Maple finger board. The finish is flawless as well. Great job Fender. The SKB Fender Case is a great protection for it as well. Go for it, a real Jazz Bass.

This '08 Jazz is a slight improvement over my '03 in weight, fretwork and bridge. Both have their own vibe and both sound wonderful but I feel more presence from the '08. I also like the flat pole pieces that don't chew up your fingers.
A very fine instrument; not perfect but close.
