Fender American Vintage '69 Telecaster Thinline Electric Guitar with Tolex Case
The Telecaster family expanded in 1969 with the introduction of the Thinline. This version of the Telecaster featured a semi-hollow mahogany body with a distinctive single F hole. The semi-hollow design came about from an effort to reduce the weight of the Telecaster. Due to a dwindling supply of ash wood, Fender began to use alder wood more exclusively in the 60s, and sometimes the result was a heavier Telecaster. With the new mahogany semi-hollow design, in tandem with a traditional Telecaster schematic of 2 single coil pickups; a new variation on the already classic Telecaster sound had been created. Fender has returned to these specs from yesteryear to give the American Vintage 69 Telecaster Thinline Electric Guitar. Fender’s American Vintage ’69 Telecaster Thinline also boasts a period-correct 1 piece gloss lacquer finish maple neck with a four-bolt neck plate, vintage-style neck-heel truss rod adjustment and vintage-style “F” tuners. The neck is carved into a C-shaped profile, and the 21 fret maple fingerboard has a vintage style 7.25” radius. Other features include a three-position switch with “barrel” tip, four-ply white pearloid pickguard, vintage-style 3-Saddle Strings-Thru-Body Tele® Bridge, knurled chrome knobs and chrome hardware.
