With a premium Ash wood body (as on the Mark Knopfler Strat), the Fender American Deluxe Ash Stratocaster not only gives you a distincitive looking guitar, it gives you the distinctive tonal charcteristics of ash. The tonal differences are subtle -- you wouldn't want to mess too much with the Stratocaster sound -- but you will notice slightly more emphasis on the highs and bass, perfect for country and funk. A Urethane finish helps the beauty and tonal characteristics of the wood shine through. Otherwise the American Deluxe Ash Stratocaster has everything Fender put in the alder version of American Deluxe Strat. The new N3 noiseless pickups with their combination of Alnico 2, 3, and 5 magnets get you closer than ever to the great vintage Stratocaster tone while using a stacked humbucker configuration to kill unwanted noise and let the tone come through. The new S-1 switching system offers you more tonal possibilities than ever before, including in phase and out of phase tonal effects. This takes you well beyond the traditional 5 position pickup selector, without sacrificing anything from the original Strat circuitry. The compound radius fretboard is more curved near the nut and flatter near the bridge making it more comfortable to play chords in low registers while providing effortless string bending up high. The maple neck, with your choice of rosewood or maple fingerboards, has a beveled heel further enhancing your ability to reach the highest notes. Staggered locking tuners and the two-point synchronized American Deluxe Tremolo assure solid intonation no matter how much you use your whammy bar. Includes SKB® high Tech Molded Case with TSA locks, cable, strap and strap locks.
