Bought this bass for myself as a xmas present and absolutely love it. The vintage pickups have a wonderful warm sound to them. Also, I love the vintage frets. The 7.25 radius neck takes a bit of getting used to, but once you get the feel of it it plays great. I am extremely happy with this bass and would recommend it without hesititation.

This was my first Mexican Fender, and I wasn't sure what I'd get for quality. Bought the sunburst model, and was pleasantly surprised not only by the beautiful finish, but the overall craftsmanship as well. This thing is sweet! LOVE the neck; very smooth feel for a poly finish, and the vintage frets are superb. I'm never going back to medium jumbo frets! Though adequate, I replaced the stock pickups and 3-knob controls with a set of Fralin pickups and stacked knob controls. Now it's perfect.

In my younger days I played professionally, and wish that I had owned THIS bass in the 80's and 90's.

The craftsmanship is perfect on mine, with a neck tha feels like an old friend. Frets have absolutely no rough edges, and even with a low studio action I never get a buzz.

Let me tell you one thing. If someone every stole this, I would spend buy another, and then spend every waking hour hunting the guy down.

Do yourself a favor....get it!

I must have played, looked at and researched almost 30 basses until I came accross this one. I always wanted a classic 60's tone because its the music I love playing; so finally I came accross the Fender 1962 relic bass, but that was way over my budget. I was just about to buy a regular mexican standard jazz bass when I was told about this one. Looking almost exactly like the relic bass and sounding BETTER than it, I couldnt refuse this one.

I am very pleased to see that this workhorse can still boom out the 60's tone everyday at the studio, my house, at jams and on stage. Dont bother looking at any other bass becuse this won tops them all. Ive never played a bass thats actually worth the price. This bass is worth more than price! Go for it!

I bought this bass as my first [...] in Allentown PA and it has been very good to me. I love the vintage tone and the sunburst finish on the body. It is comparable in my opinion to an American Jazz Bass but without the S-1 switching. I put a Badass II on it and strung it up with some Rotosound John Paul Jones Signature Piano Strings and it is the bomb! You can play pretty much anything on this bass!

"The finish on the neck complements the sort of antique look of the bass. The pickups sound very nice. The stock bridge is OK, but if you add a Badass Bass II bridge, it will GROWL!! You can get a wide variety of tones from this thing, from a mellow sound to an almost-Rickenbacker sound if you add the Badass and turn down the bridge pickup volume all the way. Nice sunburst finish, looks like John Paul Jones' Jazz Bass."
