Fender Eric Clapton Signature Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Vintage Tweed Case
Few great artists are as closely associated with the Fender Stratocaster as Eric Clapton. His beloved “Blackie” Strat (which reportedly sold at auction for $995,000) was the model for the very first Fender Artist Signature Stratocaster. Now, imagine that Eric Clapton is so impressed with your playing that he offers you one of his current Strats for a tiny fraction of what Blackie cost. Naturally, the latest version of the Clapton Signature Strat has been updated with two decades’ worth of advances in guitar technology. The first thing you’ll notice is the a trio of Fender's new Vintage Noiseless™ pickups. They’re built to give you true vintage Strat tones, minus the vintage hum, and that’s exactly what they do. But the Clapton Strat adds some unique Claptonesque touches that give this Stratocaster a sound unlike any other. Hidden inside are powerful active mid-boost (+25dB) and TBX circuits, designed to make the single-coils sound more like humbuckers—a key ingredient in the Clapton sound. (And you thought it was all in his fingers!) This exclusive combination of pickups and circuitry make the Eric Clapton Strat one of the most tonefully versatile instruments in the Fender line. A couple of other features contribute to this guitar’s Clapton-inspired uniqueness. The neck has a special soft "V" shape that Clapton specifically requested, because he loved the neck on his favorite Martin acoustic. You don’t see that on every Strat! Or this: the vintage synchronized tremolo bridge on the Clapton Stratocaster is “blocked” with a small piece of wood in the bridge cavity. Why? Clapton liked the tone and tuning stability of hardtail Strats and never used the tremolo. How can you pass up the opportunity to own the Stratocaster Eric Clapton takes on tour? You know you will love owning this guitar forever. Includes a vintage tweed case.
