While retaining the classic look of its predecessor, the ES-335, Epiphone has scaled down the size of the body to that of any of their solidbody guitars. Those who felt that the ES-335 was not for them because of its large body will definitely re-evaluate once they give the Ultra-339 a go. You get all the comfort of the small body while retaining all the beautiful tonal qualities of a semi-hollow guitar! The ES-339 features a semi-hollow laminated maple body and employs a pair of Epiphone ProBuckers with a 3-way Pickup Selector. What sets the Ultra-339 apart from the rest is a second pickup system featuring Shadow Germany's patented NanoMag pickup embedded discretely at the end of the fingerboard. Featuring three samarium cobalt magnets, an air coil, and active electronics, this low-impedance pickup captures subtle body acoustics and string harmonics. Together, you get powerful Humbucker-driven rock crunch as well as shimmering acoustic-like tones and everything in-between. The 24.75” scale Mahogany hand-set neck has a 1960's SlimTaper “D” profile, a rosewood fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays, a 12” radius, and a 1-11/16” nut. The Ultra-339’s chrome nickel hardware is rounded out by a LockTone Tune-o-Matic/Stop Bar bridge/tailpiece combo for tuning and intonation stability. Machine heads are nickel Wilkinson vintage style tuners with green keys. Case not included.
